GIS toolglossary

Welcome to the Terrain Analysis GIS self learning tool.

There are four major components to this module: Specific Theory, Algorithms, Worked Examples and Questions with Feedback. For best results, it is suggested that students work through all components of the module in sequential order.

Please select the component of your choice to begin:

Specific Theory
Introductory theory and concepts, incorporating the algorithms used in the creation of digital elevation models, and data sets derived from DEMs.

Algorithms
Algorithms demonstrating the computational methods used in the creation of DEMs.
Questions With Feedback
Questions which require the student to apply knowledge learnt in the previous sections.

Note: Components of the interactive lessons require the Macromedia Shockwave plugin to run.
